Celebrating Juneteenth with Victory in Christ!

Happy Juneteenth! 🎉 I’m fired up to bring you a word that ties our faith to this incredible day of freedom! Today, we’re diving into 1 Corinthians 15:57-58: “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” Let’s unpack this and celebrate Juneteenth the right way—rooted in faith and freedom!
The Power of Juneteenth History
Juneteenth ain’t just another holiday—it’s a holy moment! On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger rolled into Galveston, Texas, with the news that enslaved African Americans were free—two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Can you imagine the joy, the tears, the prayers that went up that day? Our ancestors held onto hope, and God delivered! Celebrating Juneteenth matters because it’s a testament to resilience, justice, and the God who breaks every chain. At Still Outstanding LLC, we honor that legacy and keep pushing for a brighter future.
Three Truths to Live By
This scripture gives us a roadmap for living out our freedom in Christ. Here’s what’s on my heart today:
1.  Victory Through Christ
Y’all, “Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” Jesus took the cross and defeated sin, death, and oppression. Just like our ancestors received physical freedom, we’ve got spiritual victory through Him. Romans 8:37 backs this up: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” No matter what you’re facing, Christ has already won!
2.  Stay Steadfast and Unmovable
Paul tells us to “be ye stedfast, unmoveable.” Our ancestors didn’t give up—they prayed, they believed, and they endured. That’s the kind of faith we need today! Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).” When life gets shaky, stand firm in God’s promises. You’re still outstanding because you keep standing!
3.  Your Labor Is Not in Vain
The best part? “Your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” Every prayer, every act of love, every step toward justice—it all counts! Our ancestors’ labor brought us freedom, and our work today builds a legacy. Galatians 6:9 encourages us: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Keep serving, fam—God’s got a harvest coming!
A Celebration Worth Shouting About!
Let’s celebrate, y’all! This Juneteenth, we’re shouting “Thanks be to God!” for the victory in Jesus and the freedom our ancestors fought for. Psalm 30:5 reminds us, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Today is our morning of joy! Whether you’re dancing, praying, or gathering with loved ones, let’s abound in the Lord’s work. At Still Outstanding LLC, we’re committed to uplifting this truth and empowering our community—because your labor is never in vain!
